Prayer for Pickles

The other day I had bought a jar of dill pickles.  My sons wanted to eat some, so we tried to open the jar.  No amount of prying, twisting, or elbow grease would get the jar open.  So we left the jar out on the counter for several days, taking turns trying to open the jar using various approaches.  Then one day we came home, and my youngest son said, "Mom!  I know how we can get the jar open!!"  And I said, "No, we don't need to use any knives," assuming that he was going to use a knife.  Then he said, "No, I mean....." and he put his hands in a praying position.  So, feeling a little ashamed that I had not thought of that option, we both said prayers.  His prayer went something like, "GOD, please help us to get the pickle jar open.  Let the lid just fly up in the air and land in my hand!"  I was astounded at his faith, something that I definitely need more of.  So next we proceeded to try again at opening the jar.  This time the lid popped easily with one turn!  we thanked GOD for opening the jar for us.  Then everyone enjoyed pickles!!

Not Fit for Human Consumption

Lunchables = Boxed meal for kids, located in cooler section of store.  Uncrustables = Frozen PB & J sandwiches, from which the bread crusts have been removed.  So I went to fix my son's lunchbox, and I asked him, "Would you like an 'Unlunchable' in your lunchbox today?  He looked at me like I was crazy.  Then upon realizing what I had said, we both broke out in laughter.
This morning on the way to school, my oldest son started telling jokes!  He loves telling jokes.  "Why did the chicken cross the playground?  To get to the other slide!"  Hee hee!  "Why did the whale cross the ocean?  To get to the other tide!"  Hahahahaha   Then he said, "I made this one up:  Why did the fox cross the road?  Because he was planning to eat chicken!!"  Too funny!
